(Even though they're in Greece but the name is too good to pass up :D)
The moment Eshe entered the walls, the guards would greet her and escort her and anyone else she brought straight to the palace, though only she was allowed to meet with the king directly. She would be led first to a room though, to allow her to clean herself off and change after her long trip, even though she was carried here by her servants. After about an hour passes, she is called into the throne room.
There, the king, an elderly tiger anthro with an air of wisdom about him, smiled to her and stands with assistance from his golden cane. "Greetings, you must be the priestess Eshe." His words were a bit drowned out by the fat, and much younger, lion sitting beside the throne, chomping his way through the leg of some unfortunate animal. The king sighs and shakes his head, "Anteros, we have an honored guest, and you cannot act that way when you one day become king." He just growls, setting down the bone and wiping his mouth on his sleeve, getting up and walking over her with a mighty belch that made the king grimace.
"Name's Anteros Mitro, son of the old man King Acastus, nice to meetchu or...whatever." He smiles and grabs her arm then lays a wet, sloppy, and quite disgusting kiss on the top of her hand before returning to his meal.
"Honestly, I don't know what to do with him..." The tiger king shakes his head and looks to Eshe apologetically, "you must forgive his rudeness, the title of prince goes to his head...and were he not my only legitimate son...well, nevermind, you don't want to hear this." He smiles to quickly shove aside that topic, and motions to the throne on the other side that up until this point, had been completely silent.
The black wolf sat there, about the same age as Anteros, or perhaps younger, and he stands when motioned to, walking to her and bowing respectfully. "Greetings my lady, I am Myles Mitro. Welcome to Greece."

Eshe had actually come alone, other than an Anubite, her male counterpart, who after seeing that she had arrived safely, vanished in a swirling vortex of sand. She was a priestess, but by no means royalty, and she considers herself to be a servant (in the very least to her own gods, primarily Anubis of course) rather than someone to be served.
Regardless, she thanked the servants who took her to her room graciously and took a healthily long bath and redressing herself in her airy, silk skirt and chest wrap before being called down to the throne room.
Once there, she bowed deeply to the elderly tiger.
"I'm grateful that you've accepted my embassy, my lord," she smiled kindly at him, "I'll do my best to serve both our nations well," she said positively, her white tail wagging. She gave another bow to the prince and smiled kindly at him, though the smile wavered when he kissed her hand and she whipped her wrist once to get the excess food and slobber from it. When the wolf approached, she noticed how much more respectful and gentlemanly he was.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all," she smiled and bowed once more to them, "Is there anything any of you need from me, my lords?" she asked.

"Well, I know you're here to talk mostly politics surrounding the two of our nations and such, but since I do not have my council on hand today, being a holiday, I thought you and Myles could learn some things about each others cultures. I asked both of them of course but-" The king's answer was cut short by another belch that made the wolf grimace as well, though he seemed to have no power to say anything.
"I said that's the kind of thing for the bastard child to do." He snickers and tosses the bone onto the floor, then stands up. "If you wanted though, you can take your pretty ass to my room later, gwahahahah!!" The lion smiles at his own dirty joke, and left leaving the other three alone in the room.
"Again, I apologize for him, he's generally harmless though, so don't take too much heed of him." Myles explains apologetically, then offers his hand. "Shall I take you to the library? I find it to be one of the rooms in the palace he'd never visit...and I'm sure you're curious to know about that comment him and my father made. Though, of course, father is more eloquent about it."
King Acastus smiles warily and begins his walk out of the room as well, "I think that would be a splendid idea. If you have need of me, ask any of the servants around the castle, until then, you're our honored guest. Dinner will be in a few hours, and I would be delighted if you joined us for it. If there are any special requests you wanted to make before-hand, Myles will be able to lead you to our kitchen. They're a bit busy though, so be careful."

She just looked a shocked and appalled by the behavior of this so-called "prince." How could he behave in such a way? She had visited Sparta for several months before coming to Pella, which was under Athenian rule, and if Anteros was in Sparta he'd have been executed for such disrespectful behavior.
"How did he even become so... appalling?" Eshe asked Myles as she gently placed her delicate hand in his, "You should send him to live with the Spartans for a week or two. That would set him straight," she said seriously, then smiled at the old king. "Thank you very much, my lord," she bowed and then smiled warmly at him.

Myles chuckles, taking her by her soft, warm, and certainly much smaller hand in his own and leading them both to the library. "I doubt he'd last a week knowing the spartans. It probably has to do with the fact that he would be unopposed as the next in the line to the throne, so he does as he pleases. His mother was the queen before she passed away...and I would normally not be so disrespectful of the dead, but I have to say good riddance. She was ambitious and manipulative..." He trails off, pushing open the door to the library and making sure they were both inside before closing it. "And she's also the reason my own mother, who was a humble servant to our king, is dead."
The wolf growls lowly, releasing Eshe's hand and walking to pull back a chair for her. "I swore I'd have vengeance...but someone else beat me to it. Maybe it was her own son in his own bid for power." He shakes his head and sighs, "sorry, let's not talk about this any further. Something happier, I'd love to know what kind of place raises a woman as young and beautiful as yourself...i-if you don't mind me saying so, of course. I'm not even a real prince, but father has never let that stop him from treating me as he would his real son." Apparently he was back on the subject before he knew it, "if it wasn't for our current laws, he would most likely make me his successor."

She blushed at his compliment, but in order to follow with his original planof movin on, she ignored his second comments about succession.
"W-well... Egypt is a like an oasis of knowledge and safety to the desert, built upon the shores of the River Nile, which supplies us with lush harvests each year. The deserts around us are unforgiving and cruel though, and full of terrors created by the allies of Set," she mused, "I am from the city of Giza, as are most of my sisters," she explained, "But I frequently visit Crocodopolis. I am friends with the priests of Suchos there. They're actually very amiable despite being sentient crocodiles," she said thoughtfully.

He blinks in surprise at that, curious what they must look like then smiles genuinely to her. "Well, that's probably preferable to having them go around and chomping people in half or the like." The wolf looks at some of the books he had prepared, but ignored them since he decided talking to each other would gain him more knowledge than all the books in the library. And she was certainly easy on both the eyes and the ears. "Tell me, Lady Eshe, how does your government work? Do the priests and priestesses have say in the rulings of your cities, since, at least according to the stories, they're able to summon creatures of legendary power?"

"Our government is run by the Pharaoh, a man descended of the gods themselves. He is the god of the Nile. He is both political and religious leader, but he focuses more on the politics. We priests and priestesses only involve ourselves in religious things, most of the time anyways, though we do act as ambassadors."
When Myles asked about her powers, her eyes lit up a little bit and she smiled, "Yes! Watch this!" she grinned and pulled a small pouch from her hip and poured its contents on the ground. The pouch held sand and only sand, but a seemingly endless amount. She poured until there was a good sized pile and then made a shape with her fingers and said a chant in Egyptian. The sand began to shift and move until out of it came a massive cobra with wings on it's hood and all the sand was gone. "It's called a wadjet."

Myles yelps and falls back out of his chair to stare up at the creature with wide eyes. He pulls himself and the chair back up, his initial shock dissipating to a sense of wonderment, "wow...that is incredible." He walks around the summoned creature, "I've never seen anything quite like this...wadjet before."

She giggles at him and wave her hand over the snake, making it crumble back into sand. Another quick chant makes the sand fly back into her little pouch and she looks around the library.
"And that's only one of my summons. My main purpose is healing though."

He smiles and pulls his chair around next to her, his tail wagging a bit in tell-tale excitement. "Healing? What can you heal, only wounds, or are you able to relieve sickness as well?" The wolf sighs, "I wish I had a power such as that. Then maybe I could usurp my so-called brother."

"I can heal wounds almost instantaneously on my own body, so long as my magica reserves are high enough, and my kind are impervious to disease. I can heal most wounds on others in about a minute or so, depending on severity, and depending on the disease it could take between a couple minutes to a week, and some diseases are incurable... Some wounds are also unfixable. If someone has a fatal wound the best I could do is stop the bleeding and ease their suffering," she explained as she delicately dragged her fingers across the labels of the many scrolls in the library. "It's a shame. I think most people would much prefer you over that brother of yours. He seems pretty awful," she glanced back at him, "Who was it that was born of your king god, Zeus? Heracles, correct?" she asked, "I've heard both wonderful and terrible stories about him..."

"I guess that makes sense, otherwise you'd just be cheating death, and He is not one to lose souls that rightfully belong to Him." The wolf remarks, watching her brush her hand along the scrolls before he blinks. "Wow, I'm impressed that you know that. He is both I suppose, benevolent, yet his power can be terrifying if you find yourself on the receiving end of them." He finds herself starting to pay less attention to what she was doing, and more what she was wearing, before shaking his head roughly and mentally chastising himself for thinking that way about an honored guest when he was little more than a bastard son.
Before his thoughts could get too off-track, a young servant girl steps inside and bows to them, "the royal chef would like to know if suckling pig is alright with the lady. There will also be many sides of various vegetables and fruits, if she does not partake of meat as well."

"Benevolent?" she asked, "I've only heard terrible stories... Like how how he slaughtered his family... Twice..." she looked back over at him and caught him looking at her and she blushed.
When the servant girl came in, she just smiled, "Any meat is fine, thank you."

"There was good reason for that, he's never really hurt us if we didn't deserve it. Those that did he would send straight down to his brother," the wolf started, until he was interrupted and smiles to the girl. "You've heard her, that will be all."
She bows again, "thank you my lord." Then she turns and heads out, "dinner will be ready in about an hours time." She called over her shoulder.
"I guess we didn't get as much time as I was hoping...but I learned quite a bit, thank you Lady Eshe." Myles smiled to her and stood up, "did you want to borrow any of those scrolls? You can take them back to your room, but don't leave the palace with them, our librarian would have a fit."

She laughed a little bit as she understood, "I'm not talking of Zeus," she said, "His son, Heracles (Hercules)," she explained, "As far as I know Zeus hasn't killed his own family... Besides the Titan Kronos," she mused, "But the stories of Heracles are awful, aside from those of the 12 triumphs over... Who is Zeus's wife again?" she scratched her ears thoughtfully, "Hera! Hera sent him the 12 trials after he killed his first family and he completed all those amazing fetes, only to kill his new family."

"Oh...right, I thought you were talking about how he killed his father." Myles thinks on it, "perhaps it was because of his fall from godhood, but I don't know about you, I'd rather not ask him to find out, eh?" He plucked out a couple of scrolls and hands them to her, "these are a couple of good legends, they'll pretty much give you a full picture of how Olympus is set up. Shall we go and get ready for dinner milady?"

She couldn't help but laugh, "I know more about your heroes than you do! Hercules was no god, he was a demigod, the son of Zeus and a mortal woman," she giggled and lightly tapped on his head, "Maybe you should read these legends," she teased and then nodded, "Of course."

He sticks out his tongue and flicks her nose, "to be honest, I was never that interested in them. They're cool and all, but I like reading about our own history, and what we're able to achieve with our own power, like our marvels of manufactory." The wolf's tail wagged a bit as he thought about them, "if I'm not able to really be a prince, perhaps I could study to be an engineer."

"You should know the history of your gods and their children," she said both teasingly and as a word of warning. She knelt down and unwrapped the laces from her thighs and toes, making sure to give the handsone wolf a good look at her delicate, pink pawpads, then smiled at him.
"So, to the kitchen?"

"I know I know, hubris brings destruction and all that. Father says very much the same thing." The wolf freezes when he watches her and swallows before nodding quickly. "Y-Yes! Let's make our way there, I'll show you the way!"

She giggled a little bit at his reaction then followed behind him. "What do you eat here?" she asked curiously and stayed close to him as a Hoplite guard walked by. He was rather imposing with his heavy, steel armor and the plumed helmet. The guards from Egypt were a lot less intimidating, but ever since Alexandria began trade with Athens, more and more Hellenic culture had been showing up throughout Egypt. She guessed she'd just have to get used to it.

"Normal enough things...or at least by our standards. Whole pig, chicken, parts of cows, etcetera." When the guard walks by, he gives him a nod before continuing as if he barely noticed the guard's intimidating aura. Perhaps it was because his own wasn't really to be trifled with as they entered the banquet hall. "I would be honored if you would take the seat next to mine own, milady."

She blushed a little bit then nodded and smiled happily at him, her fluffy tail wagging as she did. "I'd love to~!" she said.
When they got to the dining hall, she looked around. She didn't seem to be in a particular amount of awe; while this was a capital city, it still wasn't the capital of all Athen's lands, so it wasn't the fanciest of places. She appreciated the ornate simplicity of Greek architecture though, with all it's marble columns and floors. Back in Alexandria and Giza, the dining rooms were full of lavish tapestries and silk curtains and ornate rugs. Golden statues adorned the walls and everything was so very extravagant.
"You'll have to come back and visit me in Egypt," she urged him hopefully.

"I may have to take you up on that offer," he replied, though he knew neither of them could finalize a deal like that on their own. He may have been a bastard son, but he was still royalty, and certain policies and procedures had to be followed. Those thoughts were interrupted by his brother sitting across from them, eyeing Eshe with obvious jealousy, until he had to hide it when the king took his place at the head of the table.
After the plentiful bounty of meats, vegetables, fruits, and breads was unveiled, he threw his arms wide, "it is not everyday we get such an esteemed guest! Please, feel free to eat your fill, drink, be merry, and we can worry about politics tomorrow."

"I appreciate your kindness, my king," she smiled warmly and gratefully at him, "I hope to see the relations between our nations and our gods grow and prosper," she gave each of the males around her a kindly smile before looking at the chalice full of wine. She took a sniff of it then looked curiously at Myles, "You... Drink wine here?"

He tilts his head, taking a sip from his chalice without giving it a second thought, "of course. We always have bountiful harvests of grapes thanks to the goddess Demeter, and we have to appease Bacchus with said wine. But though he drinks quite heartily, there's still plenty for us as well, and it's quite delicious, you really must give it a try." Myles starts grabbing food items to fill his plate, and begins eating a bit haphazardly and leaving grease dripping from his muzzle. He looked like the most well-mannered gentleman in the world compared to his brother though.

She frowned thoughtfully. "We don't have much wine... What we have is used only for rituals. I didn't even know you could drink it..." she said and took a sip. Her eyes lit up happily and she took another few deep gulps of the wine. These Greeks would quickly learn why anubians, at least the priestesses, weren't allowed to have alcohol.
"Thats really good~" she hiccuped and began heaping food onto her plate.

Myles watches from the corner of her eye at her movements that were becoming quickly erratic, while sipping on his second chaliceful to finally start feeling a buzz. He wouldn't dare say it out loud since his brother might hear and try to take advantage of it, but he had to wonder if she was just playing around or if her tolerance was probably the lowest one in Greece at this moment. Even kids grew up with the stuff after all.

She hiccuped again and giggled before chugging whatever was left in the glass. She picked up a piece of bread and contemplated it with a drunken stare before turning to Myles.
"Bread," she said very simply, waving in front of him then hiccuped and took a big bit of it while beginning to lean drunkenly to one side.

Even his moronic brother was beginning to catch on before the wolf suddenly grabs her and helps her onto her feet. "You look tired Eshe! I should get you back to your room." He barely gave her a chance to say something compromising, whisking her away as quickly as he could out of the banquet hall, "thank you for dinner father!"
The king just chuckles knowingly while his 'true' son shrugged off his confusion and goes back to eating. Even if they had only eaten half their shares, they could be assured the fat lion would finish off the rest.

Eshe giggled the entire time she was being pulled to her room and leaned into him once there. "You'ee fluffy~" she giggled and tried lifting one of her foot-paws. "Rub my paws," she urged him hopefully, hiccuping the whole time.

Yep, she was definitely drunk. He sighs but can't help but smile as he helped her to her room and onto her bed, shutting the door until she made the request. Even if she wasn't all there, he very well couldn't ignore such a direct order, and slowly nods as he walks over...he also had to admit the thought of touching her soft pads was arousing, and he sits in front of her to lift and massage into it with his finger pads. "As you wish milady."

She can't help but squeal and hiccup giddily as he does and her ties curl and spread at the feel of his fingers on her soft pads.
Touching those pads would probably feel amazing even for Mylo. Her fur was sift as silk and the tender, pink pads were like warm velvet.
"Urrrf~" she growled happily, her toes wiggling.

He gulped, feeling her soft feet was starting to arouse him, and since she was drunk...no! What was he thinking, he couldn't take advantage of her like that, he wasn't Anteros! The wolf shook his head ruefully and continued to work her foot paw before switching to the other. "How does that feel milady?"

"Mmmm~ you're good at this~" she growled cutely and flexed her toes against his warm, strong hands. "You're really good at this, Mylo~" she combined his first and last bane while purring happily, almost like a cat,

The canine blushed at the nickname, and finally just throws away his inhibitions and starts suckling on her toes, moaning as he does so while his erection starts pushing against the fabric of his pants.

Her eyes go wide and a soft moan escapes her. The soft digits spread against his lips and her back arches as the sensitive pads meet with his lips and tongue.
"Ohhhh~" she closed her eyes and rubbed her other foot against his cheek.

He murrs, and releases the foot to catch the other, slobbering on it more to let his drool run down her pads, and slipping his tongue between her toes to taste them even more thoroughly. Anymore of this and he might lose control of himself...

Her soft fur between her toes had the vaguely salty taste of mild sweat, but her pads tasted sweet with the vagueness of salty.
She moaned ecstatically and her toes spread, showing the warmdrool dripping between them, but only a couple seconds later she passed into a drunken slumber. Her sensitive paws continued to respond to his touch and soft moans continued to escape her lips, but she didn't stir any more.

Myles releases her, licking his lips and smiling before tucking her in, "good night Eshe. ...Sweet dreams." He slowly moves to plant a kiss on her forehead, hoping she didn't notice as he quickly slips out.

She didn't notice and slept soundly until the morning when a young fox slave came in and began to draw open the curtains of the room.
Eshe woke up slowly and stretched, not at all feeling the effects of a hangover.
"Good morning," she smiled at the slave who only silently bowed and went about fixing the silk sheets on the bed.

The moment of peace was soon to be shattered when the fat lion bursts through the door, and flanked by four guards before he points accusingly at the young female. "Guards, seize her! She is the one who assassinated my father last night!" They rushed in and grabbed her without question, and Myles was soon at the door himself.
"What is going on here, how dare you treat our guest this way!" He shouts and bares his fangs, but Anteros wasn't about to back down and looks down on his brother with a growl and then roars.
"YOU FOOL! GO LOOK AT THE OLD MAN YOURSELF, THERE'S SAND EVERYWHERE!! AND HE WAS POISONED WITH SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE COME ONLY FROM EGYPT!!!" The wolf's eyes widen and he runs off immediately. "THROW THIS WENCH IN THE DUNGEON!!!"
(I just realized I don't actually know what Eshe's species is)

Eshe's eyes went wide as well.
"W-what?!" she cried out and backed away, "I-I didn't do anything! I didn't do anything I promise!" she protested as the hoplites grabbed her arms. "N-no!" she backed off and her pouch of sand fell from her hip, dumping a high volume of sand out. She cried out a quick chant which turned the sand into a massive stone Anubis statue that quickly took a defensive stance in front of her.
"I-I didn't do anything! P-please believe me!" she begged as she hid behind the statue, who pushed the hoplites away.

This only made her seem more guilty, the soldiers getting angrier while the lion took a couple of steps back. "Careful men, she's dangerous! I'm only giving you one chance to give up peacefully before I authorize lethal force!" He snarls and pulls out one of his own swords, the crest of Ares engraved into his blade that made it glow gold, but before anyone else could do anything, Myles ran back.
"Lady Eshe, listen to me! Don't struggle now, and you men had better not harm a single hair on her body if she agrees to do so!" The wolf howls out, pushing past them and turning to face them with the statue. "Or you'll be dealing with me as well!"

Eshe cried quietly, unsure what to do... But she trusted Myles. She muttered something and the statue crumbled to sand then snaked back into her pouch.
"I-I didn't do anything... I-I liked the king... H-he was kind to me..."

He turns back to her and wraps her in his arms, "everything will be okay...I'll find out who really did this." After all, it couldn't have been her, he was near her room all night, and she never exited unless she left through the window. And in her drunken state, he highly doubted that, but any testimony from him would be shot down immediately as 'trying to defend his new lover'. He needed some form of physical evidence...
Not that he got much more time to think on that, since the lion shouted, "well, arrest her already!" The hoplites looked at each other nervously before each took an arm, and one snatched away her dangerous pouch of sand. And without a chance to say goodbye, she was escorted out after irons were slapped over her wrists.
Ironically, the dungeon entrance wasn't that far from her room, and they descended a long spiral staircase until all that could be seen was lit only with torches, and they opened a room, waiting to see if she walked in herself before trying to throw her in, since that would probably needlessly incur the other prince's wrath.

Now she complied without argument or resistance but only cried and occassionally whispered "I didn't do it... I'd never hurt someone... I'm a healer..."
When the door to her cell was opened, she entered without a struggle and just sat in a corner crying.

The fact that she was a healer only solidified her guilt in their minds, slamming the door shut behind her and taking the bag of mystic sand further into the dungeon, out of her sight. Not that it was really dangerous in anyone else's hands. But because she healed, she must have had extensive knowledge of herbs and such, including poisons.
An unknown amount of time passed, as there were no windows inside the cell and the only light came from the dim torches outside, before Myles appeared at the window and whispered. "Eshe? Are you in this one?"

She didn't though. She had very little knowledge of herbal medicine, everything she knew was based in magic.
When Myles appeared, she was still curled up in the corner, quivering with fear and praying in Egyptian. His voice snapped her out of it and she ran to the door.
"M-Myles! I-I didn't do it! P-please believe me!"

He presses his finger to his lips, "shhh!" His ear swivels to where he can hear the guard, snoozing away at his post quite loudly, and then sighs with relief. "I'm glad they put the heaviest sleeper in charge tonight. And I know it wasn't you Eshe, you were too...uh...drunk to commit an assassination. And I don't believe you'd be capable of something like this anyway. But they'll never listen, you're to be tried, then found guilty, and hung or beheaded publicly. And there's no way I'll let that happen..." Myles clenches his fist, "I bet it was Anteros, he always wanted father to relinquish the throne...but I never thought he'd do it like this. We have to find some way to prove your innocence, but you can't do that locked up." He pulls a key from his pocket and unlocks the door before offering his paw, "let's go, I know a secret tunnel out of here."

Her cheeks turned red as she peered at him through the bars. "Y-you'd risk all this for me...?" she asked softly then stood back for him to unlock the door. When he did, she pounced onto him and gave him a tight hug while tears rolled down her cheeks.

Myles braces himself, figuring that was coming, and was glad she was so light. He wraps his arms around her, then gently pushes her away to take her hand and start walking down the tunnel. "Don't get me wrong, it's partly that, but I'm still not entirely sure about how I feel about you. We only met yesterday after all...but I can't let Anteros get the throne like this and bring our beautiful country to ruin. But if this works out and we do become close...I certainly wouldn't mind it. Now c'mon, this way." He leads them down a few tunnels, before stopping at a wall with a single torch, which felt kind of out of place since there were no torches at the end of any of the other corridors. "I can't retrieve your sand though...it's too heavily guarded."

"I can use any sand," she said quietly while following after him as best she could.

"Hmm...we don't have much in the palace though, but don't worry, I'll keep you safe." He says, then pulls the torch and steps back for the wall to start sliding open, just in time too, because he could hear yelling down the hall.
"YOU HAVE TO STOP TAKING NAPS YOU IDIOT!! THE PRISONER'S ESCAPED, FIND HER!!!" Came the shriek of either an extremely frustrated male, or a manly female. Either way, Myles didn't wait to stick around to find out, and sweeps Eshe off her feet before running into the tunnel, which shut before the guards could see it.
"It's not much further...but I hope you don't mind if I sweep you off your feet, milady."

She blushed deeply when he did so and rested her chin on his neck. "I-I don't mind... It would be faster if we both ran though, I think."

The prince chuckled, "no one really knows about that door, so we should actually be pretty safe." Myles grips her a bit tighter, running down the tunnels, seemingly randomly, until he comes to something that looked like a small library, and closes the door. There were a few bookshelves, a table with a single chair, and a bed. "I come down here sometimes when I want to be alone, and seeing as they've never found it up until now, I think we can take a rest here at least for a little while." He scratches his cheek with a small blush, though it wasn't as if his earlier one had faded. "Y-Yeah...that's the hope anyway. She grabbed its' head and rotated it. She became invisible right in front of him, then she rotated the gem's head again and she reappeared. "Here... Stay safe..." she said and handed it to him.

Myles blinks more than a few times, first in surprise at the hug, and then reaches out in time to place his hand on her cheek when she reappears. He nods and takes the amulet, slipping it over his head, "Egyptian magic really is nothing to be taken lightly."

He nods, his blush remaining for at least a little while as he left, but faded in time for him to re-emerge in his room and step out into the hall as if nothing happened, questioning the guards about the commotion outside. They didn't really suspect him, there was no reason for them to, he was the prince after all, and as far as they knew, he'd never left his room.
Eshe would be left alone until after dinner, when he returns through the passage carrying a dish, and a goblet of wine, "Eshe? I managed to sneak out some food, I guess they didn't really think twice since they figure I still mourn father's death and would want to eat alone...and really, that is half the case..."

She was curled up in a ball on the bed asleep when he returned. The white fur of her cheeks was darkened with tear stains and she was quivering. She didn't wake up when he returned.

The wolf sighs and places the platter on the table, then walks over to the bed and pulls her up into a hug, fully prepared for her to start thrashing about. "This will be over soon Eshe...do not worry..." He breathes into her ear, and rubs her back by wrapping his arms around her sides.

She didn't squirm when he touched her, her eyes just flashed open and she stared up at him.
"I-I had a nightmare..." she whispered to humans held onto him tightly.

He kisses the top of her head and helps her onto her feet, "tell me about it over dinner, I got you some food and drink. Uh, I couldn't get any water, so it's...wine." That was a bit of a half truth, but he didn't really have anything malicious in mind, he just thought she was cute drunk, and she'd probably also be pretty relaxed.

She ate only a little bit but didn't take a drink. Her desert origins let her last a very long time without liquid, and she didn't feel like drinking after what happened.
"Anubis... Visited me... He... Threatened to disown me because of what I did... Because I offered myself to you..."

Myles instead took up the goblet, sitting down across from her and sighing, "they can do that just for making the offer? Though, I guess our gods are no less cruel, or judgmental. I suppose this means I should keep my distance then? I'll let you get back to sleep, I'll be back in the morning with some actual water this time."

"I would fight your gods just to be with you Eshe...any idle thoughts I have always stray back to you, and the thought of us being unable to be together..." There's a pause, before he says something he may regret later, but...his heart was too enflamed by passion for him to care at this particular moment. "What if you gave up your priesthood? Is there a way to without angering your gods?"

The canine sighs and kisses her cheek, "I guess that's that then..." He trails off, and pulls away, "good night Eshe. And don't worry, I'll bring you some proper water tomorrow."

Myles paused when she suddenly clung to him, and sighs, feeling like she was just hurting him more by doing things like that. But he knew it wasn't her fault...that didn't make the clawing in his heart any less painful though, "good night." He repeats, and slips out.

She watched him go sadly and when he left she just curled up on the bed again and closed her eyes as visions of him danced through her head. Maybe she did love him? Maybe... Maybe she could plead to Isis? She was Anubis' adoptive mother after all.

The wolf laid in the bed, staring up at the ceiling thinking about his plot to retake his kingdom, and also if a god or goddess could possibly help him with his other situation. But against Egyptian gods, starting a war like that would probably have been incredibly stupid, and dangerous for both sides, so he just sighs and tries to find sleep where he can.

Eshe prayed as she slept and in the morning, or what she assumed was morning, she did her best to forget the night before with him, at least the sexual parts.
She waited impatiently and was growing claustrophobic in the small room so she did her best o busy herself with reading while waiting for him.

"I'm sorry Eshe...it'll only be a couple more days, and then you can come back out when I've dealt with Anteros."

She blushed when he kissed her was but it didn't seem to bother her. "I-I'm gonna go insane here... It's so... Dark... I want to see the sun, Mylo... I can't stay here..."

The wolf shakes his head, "it's impossible...even if I could get you outside, everyone in the city knows to keep an eye out for you. The best I can do is sneak another candle in here to try and brighten things up a bit, but you have to try and hang in there Eshe." He gently strokes her head and pulls the cup of water closer, "take a drink, it may help calm you a little."

"No... No a candle won't do anything..." she shook her head, "It's not... Not that it's physically dark... It's a different kind of darkness..." she sighed and leaned into him, "I'm a creature of the desert, Mylo... The sun is important to me... It's important to my well being and sanity... An it's dark in here in a way tht I can't explain, and it's only brighter when you're here... You either need to stay with me or we need to leave... P-please..." she begged him and looked up into his eyes pleadingly.

Myles blinked a few times, thinking he understood well enough what she was talking about, and realizing pulling her out of prison was definitely the right choice. "Mmm...okay, if I give you a disguise, maybe we could spend a few minutes outside...ah, I guess we'd both need them, I'm technically supposed to still be in my room." He looks around the small space and offers a hand, "let's go find something there, but be absolutely silent. We can't let any of the guards see you."

She nodded and hugged him tighter. "W-why can't I just leave the city when I go out?" she asked, "Whhy can't we both leave? We'll go with a big group of people!" she urged, "No one will be able to tell!"

He bit his lip, having to ignore just how tempting of an offer that was. "I can't. This kingdom is my home, and I refuse to let my brother run to the ground what my father and all of his fathers before him worked so hard to build."

"I know! We'll leave and get help!" she pleaded, "At least let me get help! Please, Myles!" she begged and hid her face in his neck, "Mylo... I can't be here anymore... Please let me go get help, or at least get me my sand..."

"I can't do that...if they found out it went missing, then eventually, I would be found out. There's always something that leads back to the culrpit, even in my father's case...but I wouldn't even be able to get a chance to dethrone him if I'm caught and hung for theft and aiding a prisoner's escape." The wolf explained, stroking the back of her head in a futile effort to comfort her, "and a war isn't the right answer. We have to do this the right way if I want all the people on my side...so a few minutes to let you out is all I can risk..." He sighs heavily, and presses his nose to an ear, "I don't want to keep you trapped here...but this is for both of our safety..."

"Then just let me outside and I'll escape on my own!" she begged desperately, "If you can let me outside for just a few minutes, you can let me outside to leave!"

"You can't leave!" He shouts suddenly, then catches himself and clears his throat, lowering his volume. "I want to trust you...but I'm not fully convinced you could escape undetected...if you're caught again, they'll probably just give you a very short trial, and then put you to the chopping block."

"I'd already be gone if I didn't trust you so much..." she shook her head. "They couldn't catch me if they tried..." she sighed and then her body melted into ashadis which quickly blended with the rest.
"I didn't want to leave without your permission... But I can't stay here anymore..." her voice seemed to come from nowhere, "I promise I'll come back..." she said as her body reformed in his and she hugged him tightly.

"E-Eshe?!" Myles calls out desperately, until the hug which he returns quite tightly. "You have to, I don't want to lose you..." This certainly hadn't been in his mind, though he had to ask. "But...why didn't you do this when they first captured you?"

"Because I thought I could prove my innocence..." she chuckled a bit, "That obviously didn't work. But I also didn't want to leave without your permission, because I want you to trust me... And I at least wanted to say goodbye..." she kissed his nose. "I'll come back, I promise..." she whispered and melted into his shadow again, then he was alone.

He stood there for a few moments before heaving a sigh and just cleans up before heading back up to his room. Myles decided to go about his usual daily routine, including 'hunting' for the priestess, though if he ever were to come across her trail, he would purposely mislead his little band. Not that it was difficult, he was one of the best hunters in the empire, so no one thought to try and argue with him.

Though there would be no hint of a trail. Shadows leave no marks. The only thing he would find would be much later, after he'd returned to his room that evening and one of Eshe's sashes was laying under his pillow.

It took a while longer for him to find it since he didn't make a habit of sticking his paws under his pillow, but thankfully neither did his servants. When he did notice it, he had just been about ready to go to sleep, but after finding it, sleep was the last thing on his mind, and he pulls on a simple robe before heading back down into the catacombs, hoping it was a sign that she'd returned.

Alas, it was not. It was only the next day and she had said she as going to return to Egypt. The silk strands were nothing but a last parting gift. There were a few words imprinted on them in Grecian though, and would connect them mentally if he bothered to read them out loud, if he had even seen the pale lettering on the white silk.

Funnily enough, it was actually a lot easier to see in the dim candlelight, as the lower amount of light seemed to make the letters stick out better. He sighs, rubbing his digits along the fabric, and decides to read it aloud, mainly because they weren't very common words, and he did that anytime he came across something like that in a scroll or book he would be reading.

As he read the words, Eshe was already half way to Athens. She knew that the people there valued logic and knowledge above all else and hoped that they would believe her. When Myles read though, she instantly felt the connection and stopped in her tracks.
"M-Myles...?" Her voice entered his head. "It... It is you, right?" she asked nervously.

His eyes widen and he looks around the room frantically, "E-Eshe?! Wh-Where...where the hell are you? What is this?" He questions, glad this room was a secret because he might have been deemed insane for talking to himself and yelling at a ribbon.

Eshe had a feeling that he would probably actually be speaking out loud, but she couldn't hear that. "Myles... Just... Focus on me and think about what you want to say, don't actually say it," her voice instructed. "I can't hear you speaking out loud. We're using telepathy right now."

"Telepathy?" He questions aloud, but then shakes his head and closes his eyes, concentrating on the link between their minds. <I didn't know you had such a power Eshe, everytime you do something you surprise me.>

"Well it's my actually a power I have. It's an enchantment I put on that silk wrap. As long as you have it on your person we can communicate like this. Don't lose it and don't let your brother have it, under any circumstances. Now that you've activated the enchantment, I will be able to communicate with anyone who has it, and I won't know if it's you or your brother... So please don't let him get it. I don't want you to get in trouble, or worse. Anyways, I'm almost to Athens. I'll seek help there first. They know of your brother's bad reputation, right?"
