A Swampert rolled from a volley of leaves that rippled through a bush. "What is wrong with you?!" The female mudfish shouted towards her back, working her thick legs as much as possible to run from a very PO'd Sceptile. It spewed tons of leaves in a tornado like fashion, causing a whirlwind of razor-sharp foliage. She was truly in a jam, and the axolotl didn't even know why this Forest Pokemon was so enraged.

Meanwhile, in a nearby neck of the woods, an orange-coloured Gardevoir swerves through multitudes of trees, looking back at the angry Drapion, whos' claws are almost nipping at her slender lower limbs, aggravated from her accidentally tresspassing into the scorpion's nest. She grits her teeth, exerting as much of her energy as possible in an attempt to flee from her chaser, attempting to slow it town with a well-aimed Psyshock or two, but to little avail. "G-Gyah! Back, you big mean Drapion! Back, back back!"

The particularly normal Swampert was too busy looking back and flinching from the scraping leaves that made small cuts and bruises on her skin to notice the other duo heading right for them. It was only when the thought of 'I need to run as fast as possible' stimulated her to look forwards and only then jam her fingers into the ground and shout "Whoa! Watch out!". Her digits ripped through the grassy dirt, sending up a short lived screen of loosened dirt and uprooted grass.

Hearing the voice ahead of her was enough to break her out of her sprinting spree. "H-Huh?--" She trips over one of her own stick-shaped legs, falling face-first into the grass and ground, arms sprawled out in front of her, her face catching a good deal of dirt as she slides to a halt. The Drapion behind her slows its' movements down, having its' perpetrator caught right where it wants it. The large, purple insect heightens its' stature above the Psychic-Type, creating a menacing presence behind her as it slowly moves closer, an audible sound with each step.
The Gardevoir, on the other hand, lifts her face out of the earthly soil to look up at the source of the voice. "Wh-Wha..Who..?"

"Get on your feet!" The mudfish, grabbed the Garde's hand and hoisted her up. She stepped in between the Psychic-Type and the angry scorpion and snarled to try and get it to back off. "I'll help you if you help me." She said under the sound of the settling dirt. The Sceptile swiped through it, only to find the uniquely colored Embrace in the way. "Use any Fire attacks if you have them." The Swampert murmured to the orange Gardevoir.

Her lightweight composition allowed for the amphibian to hoist her up with ease, now looking at the green, furious foliage of a reptile now standing in front of her. She quickly glanced back to the Swampert. "W-Wait, you're being...t-too? I mean, sure!" She eyes the Sceptile once again, raising her fists and coating them in a sheen of flame, letting off a quiet, fake forced chuckle in an attempt to boost her confidence. "If you wanted Fire, you've come to the right Gardevoir, y-yup..!" She kept her voice low, hoping that her readied Fire Punches at least startled her leafy opponent.

The Sceptile took a step back, but maintained it's rustled but determined look, now skulking down to the ground, as if looking for an opening. Persistent...or stupid. The Swampert was more aggressive however, using Scald to potentially burn the Drapion and also cover him/her in hot water. It also made a short lived and rather small burst of steam that still managed to obscure vision.

After listening to the activity from behind, the Gardevoir figured it's time to act. She doesn't hesitate or even bother to look at her enemy's movement, dashing towards the Sceptile in a zigzag motion, lowering her posture upon nearing close quarters, attempting to throw a knuckle(?) sandwich towards the reptile, hoping that the flame on her hands carries enough potency to do the job. "Hyah!"
The Drapion, on the other hand, lets out a painful cry as the water seeps through its scales and boils it like a lobster. Injured but agitated, it blindly storms forward, raises a claw, and heavily swipes it towards the Axolotl's legs in an attempt to cripple, or at least trip it over.

The Swampert roared in response, her legs made from sterner stuff than advertised. In retaliation, she raised her leg and stamped down on the Drapion's pincer, keeping it to the ground as long as the scorpion continued to dig into her hind limbs. In addition, she reached into the ground and managed to grab a very solid chunk of mud for a Mud Bomb, and smashed it into the Poison-Type's dome.
The Sceptile was going to use Quick Attack, but the zig-zag pattern threw off it's plan of attack and ended up with a jaw full of fire and fist. It reeled back in pain, roaring and backpedaling as it felt the burn of the fire remain.

Due to the Scald softening the Drapion's scales, the amphibian's leg was enough to crush the limb with ease, an audible crunching sound signifying that damage was done. As soon as it was able to recover from the Scald burning its' eyes, it ends up getting knocked out from the huge blunt mass of mud that got hurled straight towards its' skull, as it ends up giving way, flopping towards the ground with an audible thud, fainted.
The Gardevoir felt slightly surprised that her head-on tactless tactic worked, briefly cheering internally before doubling up her offensive maneuver, the adrenaline in her body giving her little time to think. She delivers her second Fire Punch towards the general upper body of the Sceptile, hoping it's enough to knock it straight onto its' back.

And for some reason, the Sceptile couldn't react. As if stunned by the fact that it's pride was hit in that Fire Punch, and unfortunately for it, it was hit again. It cried out in agony, panting loudly...and then it fled. Clearly out matched now that the Drapion was out of commission, the Swampert took a breath and looked down at her leg, hoping that poison hadn't been administered when it tried to jab into her bloodstream. "Hey, thanks for that..." She panted, trying to calm down considering how much of a rage she could get into. And also from how old she was. "You alright...?"

With her fists still raised, the Gardevoir looks towards her fleeing opponent in slight confusion, before she beams, a grin across her face. "I-I..We won!"
Unfortunately for her, the adrenaline rush slowly gets the better of her, as she feels her legs quiver. She attempts to turn around and look at you before her legs give way, falling onto her behind, faintly 'oof'ing. Now at a lower point of view, she notices where the Drapion's pincer jabbed into her leg, as her eyes widen, a hand over her mouth.* "O-Oh, god..I-I should be the one asking you that question! I-I mean, I was the one who led it here to you, and.." She raises a finger to gently point at your leg, sweating a bullet. "..A-And the pincer, and the leg, and the..u-uh.."

"I am..." She pulled her leg out, gritting her toothless jaw and grunting. Unfortunately, the pincer was in a bit deeper than she expected, flinching from the sudden pain she felt. "...definitely poisoned." The Swampert took a deep breath, her leg swelling slightly, with a few trickles and speckles of blood. "I am fine. I've...been in worse scenarios. Although this one isn't great, I am glad you saved my bacon from that Sceptile. I can't do jack against those Grass-Types, and I probably would have been at the mercy of that stupid grass gecko." She managed to beam a smile towards the orange Gardevoir.

She instinctively reels her legs back and hugs them together, using them to block her line of sight from seeing any bodily wound. Squeamish, indeed. "..A-And between you and me, I probably would've bumped into a tree or something and would've blacked out if you weren't there..Eheheh.." She attempts to chuckle it off, a shaky smile crawling onto her face, which soon fades as worry enters her state of mind. She frowns. "..Y-You wouldn't happen to know of any nearby Pecha Berry trees for this kind of problem, would you?"

"I am a bit far away from the swamp I live in, but I think I might know of some bushes near here." She paused, looking to see how the Garde was reacting to her leg. "Sorry. I wish I could cover this up, but uh, yeah, try to close your eyes and cover your ears." The Swampert winced, as she grabbed the big pincer.

Her expression immediately drops to one of panic and anxiety, before she squeezes her eyes shut, clamping her hands over her finned ears, not wanting to see or hear anything too gruesome. "O-Okay..J-Just, uh..pat me when you're done! O-Or, something!"

The Swampert nodded, and then she gritted her teeth and tensed up. Despite the Gardevoir's covering of her ears, it was still clear that the mudfish screamed something. It was muffled enough that it wasn't clear what she was saying, but it was clear that she shouted. The axolotl limped to a tree, and applied a very weak Scald, washing the blood off her hand and wound. It had successfully swollen up, closing the puncture. The poisoned girl sighed, starting to feel the effects of the poison. "I hate poison. It's almost as bad as grass...and Ice." With enough remaining adrenaline pumping through her body, she attempted to ignore the pain and lurched forward towards the Psychic-Type, and then tapped her shoulder with her clean hand.

The scream was enough to make her curl a little, as she felt her chest protrusion poke against her legs, shivering slightly as worst-case-scenario images ran through her head. She snapped out of it soon enough, feeling the Swampert's hand against her shoulder as her eyelids flip open, perking up, looking over to the nearby amphibian, her now crystal-clear mind unsure what to say. "..U-Uh..?"

"I am fine." She tried to strike a smile, but the pain was overpowering her adrenaline. "For now at least. I believe I haven't introduced myself. My name is Miki. It's uh, nice to meet you. I mean...I wish I could have meet you in better conditions. But uh...yeah." She chuckled at her slight poisoned naivete. "Sorry you had to go through that." The mudfish offered a hand up.

"..O-Oh, ah..w-well, uh..You can call me Auby." She smiles softly in return, holding the Axolotl's hand with both of her own, as she's easily hoisted back onto her own two little feet. "..Well, Aubrey's my name, but Auby or Aub' is just easier to pronounce, I think." She keeps a light smile, hoping that her force-of-habit awkward ways of conversing help lighten the mood.

"Ah. Well...maybe I am beating a dead horse, but nice to meet you Aubrey." After picking up Auby, she turned the opportunity into a light handshake. "We should probably walk and talk. Don't mean to rush things but...you know." Miki looked around, while getting on all fours. "So um...were you planning on going anywhere before you got chased by that angry Drapion? Would you want to visit my den?" She asked.

"..E-Eheh..I was planning the usual, really. The usual being..err..well.." She rubbed the back of her head in an attempt to find an answer, before hunching over with a faint sigh, arms drooped low. "I-I don't have a plan..a-at all. But, your den sounds like a super nice place though!" She soon perks right back up with no trace of her slouched body gesture beforehand, with a little glimmer in her eye. "You gonna' go there right now?"

"That's the plan...and well, to also search for a Pecha Berry." Miki flinched, her head throbbing now from the poison. "Before the poison...well, takes me out." She looked up, the sun was setting. "It's getting late anyway...we should probably go before any more nasty Pokemon start appearing." She turned towards the south.

"..Please, for the love of Arceus, I don't want to walk into any more Poison-Types today." Aub's head sunk low at the thought of it. "The sooner we reach your den, and the berries, the better, right?" She holds her own arm with her other hand, gently rubbing back and forth in an instinctual attempt to self-soothe.

"...Or Grass-Types." Miki took a deep long sigh, and started limping south. Only a few steps forward, and she saw a Tropius. Next to a recently cleaned out Pecha Berry bush. Fortunately for her...it's chin bared both Sitrus and Pecha Berries. "Ok. This one is acceptable." She lurched towards it, while it chewed the last berry from the bush. "Hello?" She called out to the plant dino.

Aub' immediately perked up, seeing Miki reach out towards the Grass/Flying type. She kept her hands to her sides, balled into fists, ready to help out her new friend if the going gets bad somehow. She gently bit her lower lip to stop her from spouting anything that might agitate the large, leafy sauropod. "..Mhnf.."

Luckily for them, it wasn't hostile. "Oh hello there!" He said with a smile. His tone was...very smooth. Alarmingly so. "Can I help you? Hm? Oh...by the looks of it, I could help you." He stepped closer, lowering his neck so Miki could grab a berry. "I stayed back from that fray because I am not good at fights." The Swampert nodded and took a Pecha, and started eating it graciously. "Not every wild Pokemon is a big meanie."

Upon the friendly approach, Aub' let out a breath of relief, relaxing her hands. "S-Sorry, sorry..It's just that I'm kinda on edge right now after what happened." She chuckles it off, wrapping her arms around her own waist.

"Of course. Anyone would be after that fray." The Tropius keep his neck down as Miki finished the Pecha and grabbed a Sitrus. "I am just glad I could help out!" The plant dino beamed, while the Swampert took another bite and started crushing it with her tongue, considering she had no teeth. A warm gust passed by, as the temperature refused to drop. But it was rather dry. Someone in the forest thought it was too dry apparently. Miki looked up, seeing a blue light going into the sky. The helpful stranger smiled. "Ooo, finally, some rain."

"..Huh?" Auburn looked up at the sky, before feeling a water droplet on her head, jumping a little. Followed by another. ANd then some more, before rain started to continuously pour down.
Auburn shivered a little, holding her own arms. "Wh-Why did someone think rain was a good idea?"

"There hasn't been a good amount of rain for at least a couple of weeks, although it is making things a bit colder..." Miki rubbed shivered slightly, probably having a bit more trouble considering she's cold-blooded. As compensation, she shot a Scald off into the air to heat up the rain and make it more comfortable. "Being cold-blooded sucks sometimes."

"..Hm.." Aub' lightens up her posture, and stops hugging her own arms. She opens up her palm, sparking a flame within the midst of it. It crackles and fizzes from the raindrops, but manages to stay ablaze. "Now that you mention it...I wonder if there's anything I could do to help right now."

Miki finished the last of her Sitrus and then made a sigh of relief. "Thanks for those." The Tropius nodded. "Well, it's getting dark." The Swampert noticed how quickly the darkness was setting in now that the rain clouds were rolling in. "It sounds trivial, but my night vision is terrible. Could you light the way?"
"Do you need something else?" The berrysaur asked.
"No thank you." Miki returned politely.

"Lighting the way should be super easy." Aub' smirks, using both hands to enlarge the flame slightly, before pushing it away from her palms as it floats infront of them, surrounded within a blue telekinetic aura. "If there was any plus to being Firetype instead of Fairy, I think this would be it."
Aub looks up at the Tropius, and gestures a three-fingered thumbs up as a sign of appreciation, a smile on her face. "Thanks for helping my friend out, by the way."

Miki was caught off-guard by Auburn's statement, being called a friend made her smile. "No problem." The Tropius smiled. "I'll probably soak up some water and then fly on back to my nest. Best of luck!" He smiled.
"You too." The axolotl beamed back.

Aub' switched her gaze from the Tropius to the Swampert beside her. "So, uh..lead the way?" She kept her left hand by her side, her right hand guiding and maintaining the telekinetic flame in front of her. She kept a soft smile upon her face.

"Alright." Miki smiled, and then started heading south. Auburn's last statement on them being friends echoed in her thought process. It meant something to her...to have someone call her a friend so fast, despite what she could have done. "Um...my place is sort of in some dis-repair, considering the village is only occupied by me. And also I am working a sort of...digging project."

Aub tilted her head in curiosity, following her amphibious friend suit. Her movement was lighthearted and upbeat, her flame out in front of her, lighting the space between and in front of them whilst she continued conversing. " Oh, I don't mind untidiness, but...A digging site, huh? Watcha' digging for?"

Miki looked around, and thought for a few seconds. "Well...there is something powerful down below. Something...magical. The further down I get, the more intensity I feel. And um...it's starting to show." She got on her hind legs, but kept walking, holding out her left hand in a cupped form. Small sparks and even a chain of small, weak lightning coursed within her palm, barely generating any light. "This is the most I can do right now. I have a much easier time with water and ice. Or rocks."

Aub's eyes widened at the wonder of nature that she witnessed before her very eyes. Her jaw was agape. "Wooooaahh..But, Swampert's are, like..Ground type and stuff, and lightning, but..buh..Wuuuhh?" She scratched her head with one of her hands, the other hung low. "..Buh..but, then again, I guess I'm Fire-Type and not Fairy, so I guess I can't really say much."

Miki nodded. "It's...a lot to process." She admitted. "Sometimes I wonder if it's better to not ask why. But whatever is down there...it's special. I wonder if it's a chunk of that rock from that legend. You know the one. Where um, Rayquaza blasted a giant meteorite with a Hyper Beam. And then made that virus Pokemon thing...Deoxys." The Swampert paused. "It still generates quite a bit of heat. The pit where I dug is filled with water and it's always a bit too warm, and the farther I dig the more heat vents out. It's why my progress is now just a crawl."

Aub' is just busy trying to soak this all in, slowly blinking. Funny enough, she's had no clue about Legendaries, or anything of the sort. "..Who's..okay, so the Rayquaza, and the..ah..uh..Sure?"
..Aub paused for a moment, blinking. "..Wwwwait. Wouldn't that mean your home's near a crater or something, or..?"

"Rayquaza is some dragon that lives in the sky forever...I don't know much about him. Most of it is just word from Pokemon that escaped from trainers or something like that." Miki was having trouble too, having too many pieces that were missing. "And Deoxys is...something from space. I dunno how a virus gets a physical form. I do know of Jirachi though. So many wouldn't stop about finding him...or her. They didn't even know what he/she looked like." The Swampert scoffed and smiled. "Hunting something that doesn't exist."

"..Phhffbbt.." Aub' stiffled her giggle, covering her mouth with a cupped hand. "Trainers really go to those kind of lengths? S-Seriously?" She curls a little in an attempt to keep her laughter under control. "G-Geez..I can just imagine, like, humans who've gone old and crazy and stuff over fictional things, and stuff, and..e-eh..uhm.." She looks at the ground as they walk along, removing her hand from her mouth, straightening up. "..I think that was better in my head."

"Yeah..." Miki chuckled slightly. As they continued onward, the ground became softer and the grass started to fade in favor for spots of mud and puddles. "It still makes you wonder. I mean, every one in my tribe talked about Jirachi like it was this mythical wish granter that could do anything. I wasn't going to devote my life to such a huge rumor."

"..Eh." Aub' shrugged. "I don't see the point in involving myself in anything mythical whatsoever. I like it more when I can get facts, or know that they're there and stuff--"
She feels her slender legs pierce the muddy ground a little. She jumps a little, warmly shivering." O-Ooohhh..u-uhh.." She gently raises one of her legs, looking at her leg and her footstep, created by her needle-esque lower limbs. "..I guess this means we're..close?"

"A bit closer." Miki nodded. "The mud usually gets thick and deep, but I'd assume your light frame would be able to traverse it easily. If it becomes a problem, I can carry you on my back. Well...I hope I can. I don't sound it...but I am kinda old. 19 years old...almost near my...final birthday." The Swampert looked up, ears twitching as the sound of thunder rumbled quietly and far away.

Aub' perked up, frowning as she looked over to her friend. "..F-Final birthday, huh..That's..You shouldn't be saying those things, y'know?" She kept a look of concern upon her face, holding one of her own arms, not minding the mud against her legs anymore as her attention's put more towards the Swampert beside her.

"Everyone in my tribe had a final birthday. It was like a permanent Perish Song that kills you when your twenty. I..." Miki paused and sighed. "No one knew what caused it. No one could find out what caused it. You might be awake, doing something normal in your life...and then in the next moment, you fall and everything stops. Your body just gives up. And it's been happening for 10 generations." The Swampert took a few moments to see something skim through the clouds. She just assumed it was nothing. "I probably have a month or so left."

Aub's eyes widen within her concerned facial expression, her irises and pupils darting from side to side, quickly racking her brain. "Y-You've looked for answers, r-right? I m-mean, Xatus know a lot of things, and they could m-maybe help or something..r-right!?"
"O-Or, like, uhh.." Her hands dug into her hair, as her brain keeps on flicking through answers before Jirachi settles into her mind. "..M-Mhhn.."

Miki cocked her head to the side. "But where do they live? I honestly haven't seen one in real life, and I don't know where to look." Before Auburn could answer however, lightning snapped to a huge, prominent and gnarled swamp tree that clearly stuck out of the small clearings that were blocked by the other marsh plants. She was grateful for all the foliage to be filled to the brim with water, pretty much negating the chance of a wildfire under many, many circumstances. Not even a rampaging Mega Charizard X could start one in a damp place like this.

"..I-I--" The snap of lighting, along with the clear logic to Miki's answer put her out of her panicky trance, jumping up in slight fright. She softly sighs afterwards. "I don't know. It's all just wishful thinking."
She looks at the marshes around her, her telekinetic-held fire still lighting the area around her. "So..we're here?"

"Almost. Things are gonna get thicker. Gonna have to go silent so I don't end up with mud in my mouth." And so it did. Miki started sinking to an extent, leaving her mouth just above the surface as she rode the surface of the bog. It was getting much stickier, although the Swampert had no trouble traversing such an area. From Auburn's lantern, something that wasn't a tree was being illuminated that was probably 50 yards away. It looked like some broken down house made from small trees and wrapped with some type of natural fabric, cloth or leather.

"..Uh.." Aub' gulps a little, pressing on through the mud herself, hoping that she doesn't sink. She keeps her mouth shut tight as she wades through the watery ground. She keeps her eyes forward, keeping the mud off of her mind, knowing that her dress is now probably stained more than ever.
..Of course, due to her thin stature, she had a lot of trouble just moving her limbs through the stuff, as she lagged way far behind.

Miki stopped for a moment, and then looked back, seeing the mud almost completely immobilize the Garde. Instead of pressing forward, she backed up and offered to support Auburn by going next to her. The mud was getting even deeper, almost acting like quick sand now. Miki had no trouble traversing the thick mire. I hope I can support her weight...

"..Mhn..Nngh.." Auby strained her legs hard against the thick earthly bog, but to no avail. She now looks at Miki, frowning a little as multiple thoughts swim through her head; swimming far easier than she currently is within the marsh.

Miki dove down slightly and resurfaced underneath Auburn, effectively lifting the Gardevoir up. She paused for a moment, feeling some numbness, before continuing onward after Auby got herself positioned.

"O-Oohf--!" She felt herself get lifted right off of her feet, her slender legs gently hugging the Axolotl's neck. Fortunately, due to her physique, she ended up being awfully light*. She looks down at her piggybacker, blushing from the feeling a little. "A-Are you okay d-down there?"
*((the average Gardevoir is, like, 48.4 kg/106.7 lbs. on AVERAGE. O.O))

While still unable to talk, Miki nodded, as evidenced by her massive black head fins. To say the mudfish had an easy time was the understatement of the year. It would only matter for two minutes, as the Swampert soon got them on damp land. They were now in the middle of some village, almost entirely comprised of destroyed teepees. The only few that were standing were rotting badly. In the middle, was a big clear water pond that was steaming and bubbling very, very lightly. It made things hot and humid.
Looking past the steam, one could see a massive tree that had a big gap underneath it's roots that could easily have something live in there. "Home sweet home." The Water-Type sighed. "Feel free to...talk to no one." Despite how much of a ghost town it was, there was some odd, mysterious sensation coming from the center of the nearly abandoned settlement.

Aubrey frowned, looking down at the Swampert she was still currently piggyback riding. She thought to herself that Miki needs a good friend within her final hours..If they're even final, that is.
"I guess I could always..talk to you?" She cracked a smile, hoping she could lighten the mood a little. It did fade away after a small amount of time, as she cleared her throat and hopped off of the Amphibian's head. She landed on her feet. "Ahem..so, uh..Care to show me this site where you're trying to find something?" She had her hands behind her back, reviving her smile.

Miki showed a weak smile, at least beaming some appreciation at the Gardevoir's willingness to stay. "Right...um...it's right here." She pointed to the very slightly murky, steaming pond in the middle of village. "It doesn't look like much because there's a lot of dirt in there. It's usually hard to see even when my senses. Makes it hard to actually dig precisely." She sighed. "And then there is the temperature further down. It starts getting too hot, even for me. I wish I could drain it all out, but I have a way to do that. That hole is...deceptively deep, by the way." The Swampert clarified, and then looked over the Gardevoir's dress. "If you want, you can use it to clean that mud off."

"..I seee...Uhm..Okie, then!" Aub' tried to keep a happy expression. She stretched herself out, before making her way over to the steaming body of water. Her dress was quite a mess, as it was dirtied almost completely with a muddy-brown palette.
"..Hmm.." She crouched down, testing the water by dipping a finger or two into it.

The water was hot as advertised, but it didn't seem uncomfortably so. If anything, it seemed more soothing. Almost like a natural hot spring. Well, as natural as it can get being forcibly dug by a Swampert. "I am probably gonna get some sleep...not much to do at night but light the campfire so I can keep warm." She sighed.

"..H-Huuuhh.." Aub' half-heard, the other half of her focus being on the body of water that she soon dipped her figure into, sinking down to neck level. She sighed blissfully, warmly shivering at the cleansing feeling of H2O. She closed her eyes, smiling to herself before Miki's words came to mind.
"..Keeping warm, huh?" She opened one eye, looking over to her amphibian companion. She couldn't help but chuckle a little, smiling. "Y'know, Mik', all you have to do is ask."

Miki stopped in her tracks, wondering for a moment what she meant. Instead, of trying to figure it out, she just asked. "Wait, do you mean lighting the fire or..." The Swampert hesitated, seemingly blushing. "...keeping me warm?" She had a hard time trying not to stutter.

"Keeping you warm, silly!" She couldn't help but giggle a little, seemingly oblivious of the expressions her amphibian friend is showing. "..Although, I could also light the fire for you if that's what you wanted. I honestly don't mind." She expressed smiled a soft smile. Perhaps the cleanliness of the pool and the warmth on her body is uplifting her mood...Or is she this happy in general?

Miki felt awkward, rubbing her arm as she felt a rough tension. But then she remembered something. She was completely out of supplies. "Oh right...my last piece of flint broke last night. I can't even make fire if I wanted to..." She thought for a moment. "And I am out of firewood. Well..." The Swampert clenched her legs slightly. "I gotta go to the bathroom...I'll be back."

The Gardevoir motioned a 'Thumbs up', perfectly okay with Miki doing so, as she gazed around the ghost town that was Miki's residence. But more importantly, she was busy looking for where the campfire's placed in order for her to spark a flame or two. She remained within the steamy waters whilst doing so, supposedly taking comfort within the heat.

It didn't seem to be outside, but...there was what looked like a makeshift chimney coming from the biggest tree in the area. Miki walked into a bush and well, did what was natural. After about two minutes she was back, still looking nervous as she did before. "I don't have anything to burn either...the wood in the fireplace is already burnt. Can't re-burn it. And I got no more fire-wood. So um..." She looked up, it was almost dark out. "Yeah..."

Auburn couldn't help but frown and smile at her new aquatic pal. "Mikiiiii, we don't need wood to start a fire!" She opened up one of her three-fingered hands above the surface of the water, and with it, a fire sprouted out from almost pure nothingness, slotted perfectly in her palm. "I haven't ever left a fire on overnight, though. Probably because I've never had a reason to. Until now, anyway."

"Well..." Miki paused, rubbing her arm. "You need to sleep too, I don't want you to stay up just to keep me warm..." The Swampert was acting a bit ditsy from overwhelming shyness or...a distinct lack of social interaction for a long period of time, or maybe...a myriad of other reasons. "Um..." She stuttered horribly, blushing slightly...all the while, feeling completely ashamed at her lack and inability to converse normally. To another female, even.

"..Huuhh..." She dispels the flame in her hand as it poofs into smoke, letting her arm rest back into the body of water. "Well, if I can't keep a fire on overnight.." Auburn frowns, thoughtfully holding her chin with finger and thumb. "I guess you don't sleep in these waters either, sooo..." She looks over to Miki, perking up with a little smile on her face. "I guess hugs always work."
Auburn figures it was time for her to leave the sauna of a hot spring, as she rose from the body of water, stretching her arms and slender legs out. Steam begins to rise from her body, possibly from cold outdoor temperatures mixing in with the heat she acquired from the hot springs..Or perhaps it was something else.

"Yeah...I guess that will work..." She stammered, back legs fidgeting slightly. The Swampert seemed rather nervous, and Auburn wouldn't need her chest horn to sense that. Miki nodded slowly, and then strode towards the biggest tree, which had a massive gap underneath that could easily be home to a much larger Pokemon than the mudfish herself. The area itself wasn't too cold, but the wispy winds brought in from the sea towing in the cold. "I guess I'll be waiting..." The axolotl headed in, the dirt going down into the somewhat natural den.

Auby nodded, and soon followed suit, her damp body still steaming-hot from the spring waters. Even with Miki's obvious anxiety, she decided to keep a naive approach, with the intention of not wanting to point it out and make it any worse.
She could feel the cold breeze battling the temperatures against her body, hoping her internal energy can keep her as warm as she currently is. "There's no need for you to wait, silly."
The Gardevoir retained her smile, before glancing around the interior of the tree, wondering if it's anything special or unique.

It was like a large cavity underneath the tree, that just happened to be occupied. It was filled with skins and pelts, the middle one being the fluffiest. The mud wall facing the entrance had something old and crusty drawn in it. It was faded, but had the word 'HELP' rubbed on it by what looked like a Mudkip's paw. Miki took a sad look at it. It was important to her...but brought nothing but depression to her. She laid onto her side, facing Aub. Her nervousness spiked, and she failed to make a single sound. Instead...she just opened her arms. Something noticeable was how her cheeks were flush red.

The orange Gardevoir perked up upon noticing the red upon the cheeks of her amphibian friend. A flurry of thoughts danced around in her head over the subject, but kept it hidden with a faint smile, as she walked over to where Miki laid, sitting down upon the natural rug, before slowly laying down onto her side. Whilst no more steam could be seen from her body, she still carried a warmth on her that the Swampert could feel whilst near her presence.
Aubrey slowly slipped her arms around the Axolotl, being very wary of her own chest protrusion, keeping the hug gentle. Warmth soon began to seep through to the cold-blooded, blue salamander. "..Theeere we go..Just, don't tighten the hug too much, okay?"

"Y-yeah...Good night." Miki squirmed uncomfortably. Her heart was racing, never before this close with another female. Well...at least willingly. The Swampert wasn't brutal, more along the lines of...brutally socially awkward. It's been twelve long years without any proper interaction...and now she has a Gardevoir in bed with her. While some naughty thoughts definitely popped up, she tried her best to suppress them, rather focusing on thoughts of trying to understand how to be friends with a different species. The stress of companionship and of being accepted finally dropped the anvil of exhaustion on her, and a majority of her thought process along with the rest of her was lulled to a light rest.

Auburn let out a faint, happy little sigh as she watched her amphibian friend slowly enter a drowsy, sleepy state. Once she seemed unconscious, the Gardevoir's little perky smile slowly faded. She slightly turned in her friend's hold, taking a little look around the entire hollowed-out tree, gazing at all the pelts and skins that adorned Miki's home.
She glanced over to the crusty "HELP" text written on one of the sides of the 'house', which was enough to make the orange-haired Pokémon frown and gently sigh. With that in mind, she looked back to Miki, gently snuggling and wriggling her body up against the Swampert, closing her eyes, hoping she can catch a good amount of sleep before her friend stirs from her slumber.

Luckily for her, Miki managed to fall into a more deep sleep, throughout the night. The Swampert would stay asleep until it was noon, her slumber rather heavy. It was mostly cloudy the next day, beams of sunlight peaking out through shifting clouds, obscuring the sun and making the time hard to guess. It was probably somewhere around noon. Rain was intermittent, keeping the swamp earth moist. There was push from the wind, the branches rattling about, almost hiding the *kerplunk* that was made outside. There was flapping, clearly from a large bird Pokemon, followed by an angry bellow which was from a Pidgeotto.

Aub's fins soon twitched upon the cries of the bird Pokémon, as she snapped wide awake with a frown. Her current position seemed very comfortable beside the Swampert, as she layed on her side with her legs close together and bent, and her arms wrapped around her own body.
She quietly huffs to herself, shuffling a little against Miki's slumbering body, hoping that whatever ruckus is occurring outside will eventually quieten down and move on. Probably just some bully of a Flying-Type that flew into a window this morning or something, she thought to herself.

Except it didn't seem to quiet down. In fact...it got worse. Two Chespin ran in, one of them shiny, panting and utterly soaked in hot water. The Pidgeotto slammed it's head, flapping violently and squawking even louder than before while two vines tangled the Flying-Type up. Miki flopped onto her back, inadvertently pulling away from Auburn. Despite the racket, the Swampert remained asleep...quite the heavy sleeper despite having what should be thought as incredibly sensitive hearing. Both of the Grass-Types were pleading for the Garde to save them, tugging at Aub's arm and hips.

As soon as Miki rolled away from the Gardevoir's bod, she quietly huffed, puffing her cheeks out a little in very slight irritation.
Soon enough, the sudden two little bipedal hedgehogs running in and tugging at Auby's limbs were enough to snap her out of any groggy state. "W-Woah, woahwoahwoah! What's going on--?!" Auburn backed up a little before sitting up on her rear, even blushing a little from the sudden interaction made by the two Chespins, before glancing to where they ran in from.
..Okay, I...I've got a good hunch that the Pidgeotto is what's causing them all this trouble.. she pondered, before looking at the two youthful Grass-Types. "..I-If It's the bird that's causing you trouble, I could help..! I mean, if you two can stay in here whilst I go sort it out."

That was answered not by the two Chespin, but rather by the furious Pidgeotto. "I AM GONNA TEAR THEM UP AND NO ONE IS GONNA STOP ME!" The avian shouted, snapping free of the vines and barging in, trying to smash Aubrey with a Steel Wing...but not exactly having the room to do it. The trees' somewhat narrow entrance stopped the angry bird in it's tracks, the Pidgeotto too enraged to make rational decisions. It snapped at the orange Garde, trying it's hardest to destroy and get what it wants. Both Chespin hid behind Miki, who was still asleep despite the shouting, flapping and squawking.
