I'm trying to change my avatar, but I keep getting a message saying "File type is not supported." I'm presently trying to change it on my 3ds and it is a JPEG file. I was just wondering what the requirements are.

There is some confusion between the file types .jpeg and .jpg They mean the same thing however websites sometimes don't recognise one or the other.
Try opening it in MSPaint or something and saving it as a .jpg If that doesn't work then save it as a .png and it should be fixed.

OK, I'll try that. It might be hard, though, since I'm doing this on my 3ds.

It's uhh.. difficult at best, to support the 3DS in this fasion. For example, I have no idea if your 3DS is trying to upload the MPO data along with your jpeg. (Which would freak the forums out.)
